The Tetramorph Mosaic

1991

A unit of this this ornamental mosaic is a circle divided into four segments. Each segment can take four rotation states. This basic form allows for many derived variations.

The complete set of this mosaic can be assembed into a complex composition expressing the idea of vibration, movement, and continuously changing form.

The Tetramorph ornamental mosaic was first implemented by a Japanese artist Yoshiyuki Sasaki at our joint exhibition in Tokyo and Nagano in 1992.
