The Dragon Mosaic is apart from the other mosaics. Its was designed before the creation of the the Atrium Alphabet and its mosaic manifestations. The Dragon Mosaic consists of 343 units, none of which repeats. It is based on a sevel-element and three-position matrix.
Each unit of this mosaic has a cross shape and is divided into three fields, each marked with one of seven colors.
This mosaic was designed for decorating the festive environment. Each unit was implemented into a costume of the street performance “Dragon” during the City Day celebration in Saint Petersburg in 1986.
Later on, the Dragon Mosaic was presented as part of an independent project in the form of art objects and media installations.
